The Christmas recital by The Octet Kochi confederate ‘ Sing Noel 2017’ was conducted at the Kaloor Renewal Centre on December 9

Christmas came early for some people at Kochi, when a choral group called the Octet performed a Christmas recital for the audience at Kochi. The recital included 14 songs. While there were many familiar songs, some new songs and new styles of singing made the Christmas recital, a memorable day for the audience. The recital was directed by Dr. Anil Thomas Koshy and with 23 singers, the recital was a beautiful experience.

The recital started with a procession while all of the audience joined the choir in singing ‘O Come, all ye faithful’ one of the all-time best song, from Christmas carol. The choir members were seen doing solo and duet performances. There was also an all-male team performance and all female team performances, as well. Something which made this event quite unique was that there were no boundaries of religion and caste in the entire team.

Rev. Fr. Sam K Esow gave the Christmas message and from his words, the audience present at the renewal center was able to get a clear idea of what Christmas is truly about and what we should be really be doing this Christmas. The need of the hour is, to be kind to one another and giving out a helping hand to ones in need. The event also held a collection for the cancer patients. Like every good thing in life, the Christmas recital ‘Sing Noel 2017’ came to an end with the audience joining the choir in singing ‘Silent Night’.
