Sankar Induchoodan is a Law student who enjoys travelling and discovering new experiences. Here’s what he has to say about his experience with the film Rakshadikari Baiju Oppu

With the film Rakshadikari Baiju Oppu doing well in the box office within a week of its release, several actors in the film were also talked about. The film follows a cricket club in the village of Kumbalam, ‘Kumbalam Brothers’ led by Baiju (Biju Menon). He’s the glue that brings together all the other members of the club and becomes a mentor to them as well. Wkochi caught up Sankar Induchoodan, one of the actors who plays the role of Hari, andd is one of the members of the cricket club in the film.

A fun, light hearted person, Sankar says his intuition got him to where he is. “Quoting from The Alchemist,  ‘When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’, that’s what happened with the movie and in my case as well”.

A Kochi born law student pursuing his studies at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, DehraDun, Sankar Induchoodan says the movie, Rakshadikari Baiju, happened in between. His main passions include travelling, modelling, dance and drama. He’s written articles for a lot of prominent magazine like this article on FWD Life. Recalling acting the role of Hari to be fun and challenging he says “Hari was the exact opposite of who I am. I’m a fun extroverted soul who loves to travel, meet new people, gain new experiences, etc, whereas Hari is this shy introverted soul who mainly keeps to himself.” not revealing much about his role saying it might ruin the film for the viewers.

The movie was shot at Payyoli in Vadakara. It invokes a nostalgic village feel that takes us back to our childhood. “The shoot began around October last year and ended around December. The people there were extremely cooperative. I used to go play cricket with them in the morning as well. The dialogues were all recorded live, so even the slightest noise, like a bike passing by or a cow mooing would result in a retake. The people there were extremely helpful by controlling all that to the best of their abilities.”

The movie released last week on 21st April has gotten a lot of good reviews. The young actor had only good things to say about the team behind the movie. “I’d been getting a few offers for a while now, but I jumped on board for this one because this was an opportunity for me to work with Ranjan Pramod who is a celebrated writer-director, and for good reason too! He weaves magic through his films. The main reason why I could portray Hari as well as I did was because of him. It wasn’t just that, the whole team was exemplary. Working with Biju chettan, who’s one of the most natural actors in the Malayalam Film industry was an experience on its own. The same goes for everyone. I was really lucky to bag an opportunity to work with such a great team and great actors like Janardhanan, Vijayaraghavan, Hareesh Perumanna, Aju Varghese and many more prominent names in the industry.”
